Do All-Around Gaming Channels Work?

Target a specific audience. Branch off later once you've established your channel
Stealth1 hit it on the spot. Like him, I suggest sticking with 1-2 (maybe even 3) games, and then begin playing more games once you've grown a little. (By growing, I mean more than views/subscribers. I mean things like editing techniques, thumbnails, etc.)

I'd definitely say I like channels that have a lot more variety than just really small, niche parts of gaming. For example, I'd never subscribe to a Minecraft-centered channel, but if one I'm subscribed to had some Minecraft-related videos, it's not like I'd unsubb them just because of that. Basically with more variety, you can have that much more of a potentially larger fanbase.

So basically, I had a Majora's Mask series that I wasn't enjoying, so I stopped it. I want to start Dead Space because I love the franchise, but also want to do some Minecraft. That got me thinking, do gaming channels that post everything really work? Do you guys subscribe to those kinds of channels, the ones that post all kinds of different games, or do you like channels the focus on solely Horror or solely Minecraft? Leave a response, because i'm really curious.
I think if you remain consistent in each type of game you play then there no problem, but it becomes a problem say if you post minecraft and dont post for an example call of duty for ages because you solely focusing on minecraft then i dont prefer those type of channels

For an interesting view on this, search for PewDiePie's video on him looking at his first videos. He talks about how he started off mostly doing one type of video and what it was like switching to a broader spread of games.

Unless you want viewers from a specific community, than all-around gaming channels will work. DONT FORGET to make a playlist for each game you play, with that viewers can subscribe only to the playlist of the games they like, and their sub box won't be filled with videos they don't want to watch.

I do not think they work, but I could be wrong. In my opinion sticking with one type is the best way to go. Reason being is that your separating your audience. If you post a video for each game everyday, then things will most likely workout.

Yes, all-around gaming channel channels still work(lol i am one of them). For myself i dislike channels that only upload one type game and not have any sort of variety. Will never subscribe to channels that only upload one type of game. More variety can reach wider audiences and is more attractive imo.

I seem to be in the minority as I only focus on one game (not minecraft!), but I'm happy to only cater to that particular audience.

But, I guess if you want to catch more fish, you have to cast a bigger net.

People tend to want to watch more than one thing, if all your doing is getting K.E.M strikes on Call of Duty Ghost then that'll get boring but if you post 1-2 of them a week, and then 1-2 of another few games then it varies your content and it's something new, you might have 10,000 subscribers, 5,000 of which may like your call of duty videos for instance and the other 5,000 might like your other game videos.
I'm not saying I'm right at all but I definitely think it's a god theory.
