I am thinking about creating a spin off of Sketch Comedy TV shows like Saturday Night Live etc but instead of the typical format I would change it up a bit.

Topics:

News: Made up news about celebrity's based on real events but twisted.
Example (Ariana Grande licks Ice Cream Cones for Ben and Jerrys)

Interviews: Where I interview a new and upcoming singer or actor played by me

Music Video mistakes: Showing fake behind the scene clips of music videos. (I would film them myself to avoid copyright)

Here is where I need advice.

Do you all think I should lump all these topics into a half hour episode on YouTube or split them up into individual clips and then make a playlist for each episode? I've seen videos with lots of views that are over a half hour long. Maybe it's because of the topic or maybe the certain audience? Wasn't sure if for a comedy sketch if someone would be willing to sit down at a computer or tablet and watch a YouTube half hour episode.

Thanks

I like the idea, but as @Sennuh says, splitting them up might be better because people on YouTube have a very short attention span. Do you have a group of people to be in the videos with you? Having lots of cast members will help it have that SNL feel

I was thinking of just playing all the characters. I'm good with voices and have a friend who's a makeup artist for male actors. LOL But I wouldn't mind having others cause that can be fun as well.

I would split them up and put them in their own Playlists, so if people like one of those types of skits, they can watch all of them together.

so make the whole show as a playlist split up or do you mean if I made news all news goes in a playlist?

All the news could go into the playlist, then all the other similar-types of skits in another, so if someone just wanted to see the news segments, they'd know where to find them.

Personally I would do this - Start off smaller to begin with, like around 10 minutes each episode, but make sure that 10 minutes in JAM PACKED with funny content and making sure it's quick and snappy.

Then after a while if you've gained a nice following of the series start extending the episodes to 30 mins.

That's just what I would do! Keep us updated. I would LOVE to see what you come up with :) :) :D

maybe I could do both? Upload individual clips and do a 10 minute episode. Since YouTube lets you disable the feature to push certain videos to your subscribers that might work.[DOUBLEPOST=1448477218,1448477089][/DOUBLEPOST]

I was thinking of making a separate channel but I figured I would use the same one I have now and if it makes sense to make a new one later I will. It's still my comedy stuff so I think it should go under the same channel
