copyright strike

How do you know if you get a strike? Do you get an email? A couple times they have refused to monetize my video's saying they wanted proof it was my stuff.. I have sent that to them but they still haven't monetized the two videos. Is that a strike or Just YouTube being ignorant?

and see how my channel grows and maybe I can then aply with a bigger partner :D

6 months with no further copyright strikes (only for your first strike)

If this is true, It is a change. Youtube has been /INSANELY/ strict about this. In the past, any strikes on the account (that was someone actually filing the dmca paper work and not content id) stayed.. forever. If you still have a copy right strike - you can reach out to whom ever filed it and ask they remove it. They do have that ability. I have seen Youtubers reach out to artists and company's who have done it with an agreement it would never occur again.

So I need to ask the company who claimed it (I think it was warner music company) to remove the claim ?

You could reach out to them and say you removed it and ask them to with draw it, yes. There's no gaurantee.. It's worth asking..

Start fresh and read the copyright laws, 20,000 views is quite a bit but if you are weighing out the time cost of appealing you may find its simply not worth it.
I follow the (US[YouTube]+Canada[FreebieFM]) laws to an absolute tee, because I recycle content there is always a chance I could get one.
If I ever did i'd be phoning, emailing, and if the channel was big enough i'd even consider hiring legal representation to get it appealed.

You seem to know a lot about this... maybe you can help me.
I recently got a copyright strike and after talking to the guy that filed it, he agreed to file for a Refraction. Before the conversation, i removed the video...
Can Youtube still remove the claim even without the video?
Does filling for a refraction mean that it will defenitly removed? How long will it take?
