I have previously had an HDPVR 2 and in my opinion it was awful to use. The software wasn't that good to use but now I have an Elgato which is close to the HDPVR 2 price range and is so much better to record with. The features that come with the Elgato software are so much better. The main one is that you can use ghost recording which will still record even if you forgot to press record but the down side to it is that you have the live commentary feature which doesn't work too well.
When I tried using it there was a buzzing noise and it is kind of annoying that you need your PC or Laptop or whatever you use to be on in order for you to get a picture on the TV from your console but then if you record YouTube videos your PC should always be on (Well at least mine is)
But overall I think the Elgato is much better[DOUBLEPOST=1402994275,1402993982][/DOUBLEPOST]The Elgato is much better than any capture card for consoles and is proved by the amount of BIG YouTubers that use them. The HDPVR lost the battle. The Elgato is around £100-£150 depending where you get it from. You could even find it cheaper but then you need a microphone as well which aren't cheap. I have the Blue Yeti which cost me around £95 but once you have them and a good enough PC (Or whatever you use) you are on your way.You just need to get used to the different software involved in console gaming like the capture card software and Audacity for recording commentary. I don't know if it is the same to record commentaries on PC because I haven't done that yet because my PC is just capable of recording console but I will hopefully give it a go in the future

Yeah, I got the Elgato on Amazon early this week and it's way better than just using my camera, too ahem amateurish heh. It wasn't too hard to set up either. I have a couple of questions, Is it possible to add text in editing and maybe music?

I don't believe that you can do it directly with the elgato software but you can for sure with video editing software such as Sony Vegas and Final Cut Pro.
