Hey!
I've been doing PC gameplay and I wanted to know what you guys use for console capture?
Maybe just post a list of what you had to obtain in order to do it.
Also add if there are any increased difficulty compared to standard PC game capture.

Could anyone suggest typical capture cards rate them by quality and price? I'm doing research on it right now. Would like to know what you guys like the best :)

Capturing console requires a capture card.
HD is prefered.
I have a HDPVR 2 which is by far the best one around. I will record for you if it is a machinima or lets play of some sort
 
It's not really any more complicated.

I would highly suggest the elgato, but for cheaper maybe the roxio game capture hd :)
 
Hauppauge HD PVR1(PS3) for PS4 i use the Avermedia Game Capture HD 2(C285). They are both (very)great capture cards. The Avermedia is so great because it records in excellent quality and you don't need a PC to connect!!! Only a formatted external hard drive to save your clips.

I have bad experience with the Hauppauge HD PVR 2 and Roxio Game Capture, especially if you want to edit clips in Sony Vegas(Vegas hates them!). HD PVR 2 has a reputation of (unsolved) driver bugs(120 fps in Sony Vegas). Just google it! My advice is to stay away from HD PVR2 and Roxio and go for Avermedia Game Capture HD 2 or Elgato.

roxio and hdpvr are the best dont take anything else. they are extremely reliable and fast. they are have amazing quality and i wont get rid of my hd pvr EVER
 
I personally use the el gato and it is by far the best capture card out there in my opinion. NO complaints what so ever about it, it is a little bit pricey but honestly its totally worth it. I've heard some real horror stories about some of the other capture cards out there especially the cheaper ones. If you want to see samples of recordings I usually do COD videos on my channel so check those out if you want to see what its capable of. I think I purchased mine off of Amazon for roughly $140.

Avermedia Live Gamer Portable is the best capture card I have ever used. $150.00 on amazon
