I think I may know what German was saying - basically, if you're recording from the clip-on (lavalier) mic INTO the camera, you're still gonna have obnoxious camera noise in your audio (unless you're using something with significant gain boost, so you can take the camera's audio level way down).
But if you'd consider a lav mic AND an H1 Zoom portable recorder, you could eliminate that problem.
^this.
I think I found my answer here:
I don't mean i'm getting that specific microphone XDHOWEVER, Rode Pro, +20dB, camera audio level of...2 steps up from nothing = no perceivable camera noise.
I imagine you could get a lav with some preamp (or just patch the H1 in between the camera and the lav).[DOUBLEPOST=1373609962,1373609879][/DOUBLEPOST]
Oh god, no. No. No. NO!
That mic succcccccks. And the battery is non-standard and a PITA. And it's not shielded well.
Or mine was a bad one, I suppose. All I know is the audio I got out of it was terrible.

What I mean is that I want to eliminate the background noise and it seems to do a good job.

That is a whole different story than just plugging a lav mic into the camera, which I why I asked what he records on.
A Rode Videomic Pro probably does a good job with it, but I ain't touching lav mics with a dslr again anytime soon. That white noise is killing you...
*cringe*
It's only noticeable because you refuse to use cheesy stock music to hide it![]()
