Channel growing WAY to fast

I'm usually super happy when channels grow fast.
but this one seems off to me.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP1iRaFlS5EYjJBryFV9JPw

It had about 10,000 subscribers not even two weeks ago.
There is no way this growth is normal.

I mean they probably used money but i'm just curious on everyone elses opinion.

Honestly, I don't think 500 thousand people IN TWO DAYS on a still 100,000 subbed channel
wanted to see a video on Sean William.

lol that growth is insane! you sure its not a spinoff from a big channel?

All they had was an article on cracked.

and they are also an independent company I guess?

Lol heads up they actually have gotten 10,000 subs in a day.

well I'm glad it's legit :) but I think a lot of becoming a youtuber is improving over a long period of time, learning what works and doesn't. Sounds like they already know what they're doing though, so good on them :P

I am not subscribed to that channel but since I have watched of few of Looper's videos, they get recommended to me on my home screen.

Their videos are nicely produced and it is comfortable watching the whole video. Their audience retention much be very good for YouTube to be recommending them.

A well-funded company can market a channel in ways that single-person YouTube channels can't. They can place articles in places like Cracked (as you mentioned) or buy link space in popular websites and social media sites. It's interesting to see how quickly they've grown, but I think I'd drive myself crazy if I kept track of anybody else's channel growth, TBH.

Why would you go crazy?
Seems like an irrelevant thing to say.

There are some scam channels that seem to inflate their comments/views with bots (posts on r/youtube complain about this all the time), but that channel seems pretty legit. A high production value channel plus heaps of marketing can go a long way, even in a short amount of time. Probably had to pay for some ad space and whatnot. Good on them! :)

It's all about exposure, that is what matters on YouTube. A motovlogger named "Do it with Dan" exploded in similar fashion. People are attracted to certain personalities and editing styles, videos are shared on websites and the channel link gets thrown around like a wildfire. And similar to a wildfire the subscriber count explodes.
