Changing video types?

So I make tag and challenge videos mostly, basically typical youtuber stuff, but lately I've had some ideas of vlogs that I think would be fun to make, but are kinda different from what I usually make. Have any of you changed the types of video you make, and what do you think is the best way to do this. I'm still going to make the same types of videos as I usually make, but I just want to change it up a little bit and be a bit more original. :)

I see you did a few videos about books. You could try and go the booktuber route. They do tags also. They seem to have a really great community. Very active. But at the end of the day just remember to have fun with it.

i would go for something different even though tag and challenge videos can draw a large audience its EXTREMELY over done on youtube and played out in my opinion. Everyone can imitate but only few can be original!
Exactly! I don't just want to make videos that will get a lot of views, I want to make things that are a bit different and expand with the types of videos I make.

Yeah being original is going to help your identity much more in the long run. You have to look at it this way. Why would someone go to your channel to see a challenge or tag when their favorite youtuber most likely more popular than your channel has already done it? It will draw viewers no doubt but will it draw a fanbase? Probably not. It just varies on what your end goal is. If you just make videos in your free time I dont see an issue with it. But if you want to pursue it seriously possibly a full time job one day I wouldnt recommend doing it too much.

Yeah exactly. I want to be doing something different and stand out from the thousands of other youtubers making the same videos.
