Changing video types?

I've Got It
So I make tag and challenge videos mostly, basically typical youtuber stuff, but lately I've had some ideas of vlogs that I think would be fun to make, but are kinda different from what I usually make. Have any of you changed the types of video you make, and what do you think is the best way to do this. I'm still going to make the same types of videos as I usually make, but I just want to change it up a little bit and be a bit more original. :)

Honestly, no matter what kind of channel you have, i think that it is totally ok to throw some Vlog videos in there as well. I say this because it seems that people on youtube really connect with people who make videos about themselves. Viewers on youtube just love to watch other people and get to know the person behind the videos they are always watching. not just the person who is doing the tag or challenge video, but the real person. you know what i mean. :) hope that was helpful!!

Thank you! It really was. I have done one or two vlogs in the past, and people seemed to enjoy them. I think vlogging comes a bit more natural to me in some videos, so I think it would help people to kinda get to know me with a bit less editing.

I do gaming videos (of a few different kinds) and reviews. I just move them to different playlists and came up with my own name for each type. Lots of people start different channesl to do different types of videos. Honestly, it's better to put it all on one channel and just organize it. Angry Video Game Nerd does it. YOU GONNA QUESTION THE FATHER OF EVERYTHING? It works for him. lol.

I definitely want to keep it all on the same channel. I definitely love the playlists idea! I already have a couple playlists of similar videos, and I find it a lot easier to manage than multiple channels.

Multiple channels could potentially split your audience anyway. I plan on keeping everything together. I can never decide if I wanna do my "reviews" or gaming videos more anyway.

Exactly. I think it would be best to keep my audience in one place rather than redirecting them to more channels

Once you get big enough, you can split stuff up and get lots of views. H3H3 Productions and Good Mythical Morning both have secondary channels that get lots of views. It's awesome.

I say go for it. The more variety you can bring to your channel the better. I would say just try to keep it tied into the overall general idea of your channel.

i would go for something different even though tag and challenge videos can draw a large audience its EXTREMELY over done on youtube and played out in my opinion. Everyone can imitate but only few can be original!
