Caught off Guard on YouTube

Anyway, people need to realize there are consequences to their speech. Just because you are allowed to say anything you want does not give you freedom of consequence.

Yup, words does hurt a lot, it affects you, no matter if it's meant as a joke or anything - words do hurt.
Freedom is good, but to have freedom, you also need consequences. I'd rather have that, than no freedom at all, but that's a totally different subject.

Now this, I would love to see. Wrong or not, I seriously want to see how people react when they're confronted about the horrid things they say.

Usually "I didn't say/write that" or just walks very fast away almost yelling "no comment". Or the rarer ones... "They deserved it".

The problem with the internet is that it is a faceless interaction. Nobody has to immediately face the consequences of their actions so most people never even think about the consequences of their actions. Everyone is a hardman/hardwoman who can talk a tough game because they know the worst that will happen is some little dots will appear on their screen in the form of an abusive response. The young girl with cancer that someone mentioned earlier is a good example. Someone made a comment that she looked ugly with a bald head. That might be a genuine feeling, and we can't help what or how we feel in terms of attraction but it's how you handle that feeling that defines you. The person that made that comment, I would imagine, would probably have never said that to that young girl in person because they'd have had to immediately deal with the consequences, and that's the problem. As @LJay has said, I don't get surprised by what I see on the internet any more, or even in the real world for that matter. Some people like to cause arguments, some people like to offend others, and some are just to stupid to realise the seriousness of their actions!!

On a side note, something that does make me laugh through frustrated anger within my community, is all the people that play games like Call of Duty or Battlefield and think they're an instant special forces operator who can school everyone on how it's really done!!:furious:
