That is not how YouTube works. You do not get paid for views, subscribers or anything. You get paid off ad views. This has nothing to do with views. For example, a video with 50,000 views only has 1,000 ad views, another video could have 10,000 views and have 2,000 ad views. Assuming the cpm was the same or almost the same, the second video would get more money even though it had less views. For course this example is an exaggeration tons of factor effect the money made, like cpm, type of content, use of adblock, location of monizatized playbacks, and more.
The only that person got 20k views and got $300 without ads would be if they would have to have a sponsored video or something. And that is a lot of money on average you would only get $100 for those 20,000 views. But of course with your type of content upload and your small channel you would probably get way less then that, maybe $50.
If you want to make money, you have to enable monetization on your account and then enable monetization on each video. A green dollar sign icon should appear next to the video if successful. Also, in order to get paid you have to link your account with adsense and reach $100, so it could take a while. And if you weren't monetized before and you are starting now, getting like 50 views a month could take a long time to reach $100.
