Big Headed, SMALL YouTubers

I was joking. Unless you're playing along...

:p Yeah, those people can get kinda annoying if they start acting all holier than thou. I guess we just have to hope that they snap back to reality after a while.
Haha let's hope they 'snap back' quick. They will never win people over acting like that. YouTubers such as myself want to be able to relate to you and if you think that you are better than them, you will never have the kind of following you desire.[DOUBLEPOST=1402633993,1402633919][/DOUBLEPOST]Shay just did a podcast about this topic...kinda. It was more about YouTube fame and reachability.

I have seen so many cases of this that its sickening. When you get 1,000 or 2,000 come talk to me. Until then, you have your foot in the door as much as the rest of us do. As for the "interaction" aspect of it, if you are saying "look how big I am, let me give you a shout-out because I'm so famous," <<<<THAT IS NOT TO GET INTERACTION! That is just you thinking you are of importance over the rest of us. If you don't say it like that, you are not the one I am complaining about.
Then you're clearly not talking about me because I don't think of it as "Look how big I am." I know I'm a small channel. Youtube is like it's own community and in a community people try to support each other. I see shout-outs as more of a saying that you support the person and what they do. I don't really see it as, "This shout-out is going to really help your subscribers number." Because frankly, it's not going to help. Maybe one or two extra, but that's not very significant. Some people are very big-headed about it, I will agree, and think they are so much better and that their shout-out will help someone out in subscriber number. There are people who use shout-outs in really stupid/wrong ways, but there are also others who use it in an okay way too. And for the interaction part, if someone truly thinks that the person giving shout-outs thinks they are so much better than them, there is an easy solution: Don't interact. There are people who do interact, so they obviously are okay with the shout-out and see nothing wrong with it.

First of all, no one EVER called your name out. EVER!!
Second, if you feel like someone did then maybe you should look at yourself and think "Am I really that important that someone would take time out of their day to talk about ONLY me in their YTTalk post?"
I think your conscience was kicking in...lol.
Did I ever call you out? No. In fact, you aren't the one who I was directing the whole post toward. It was an 'In General' topic.

Woah, calm! I wasn't getting angry, I was simply just stating my point. I knew you weren't calling me out, so don't think I was getting angry about anything. I was just saying what I had to say. This wasn't meant to be an argument, just a conversation. So no need for any hard feelings, k? :)[DOUBLEPOST=1402636680,1402636590][/DOUBLEPOST]

Sorry if it sounded like I was trying to argue angrily over this subject, I really wasn't trying to sound like that. :/

No, it didn't sound angry. It sounded douchy.

I'm talking youtubers that have 300 or less and are saying "Do something for me and I will give you a shout out bc I'm making it big."
Last person I heard this from had a little over 1oo subs..
Ohh yeah I saw that too and I was like thats silly but if i were to do that I might get 2 or 3 subs from your 100. No point in trying to do anything with that...

I agree with you about people offering shoutouts when they don't have a lot of subs. It seems odd more than anything. If no one is watching you then who are you giving a shout out to?
Also, just a point about some of your responses on this thread, I think you're misunderstanding a lot of people and getting upset when there's no need for it.

I haven't seen too much of this actually. You can't blame people for going after what they want but if their methods aren't inline with the community, the community will soon spit them out. I think I'll call this YouTube Karma. What I would recommend is just ignore them and they will reap the rewards of their own inflated ego in time.

Big headed is big headed to me, regardless of the size of a channel. It doesn't bother me at all, I just won't watch them if I feel they are acting big headed. For every big headed YouTuber there are 100 sincere ones.

Edit - I have no problem with smaller channels trying to help out others in the YouTube Community. There are so many me me me selfish YouTubers out there that it is nice seeing someone trying to give back, regardless of size.

Edit - There are some big headed YouTubers that I do enjoy.
