Big channels have it so easy

Objectively ask yourself what do you offer that other people don't. For the people who have large channels, their views/subs didn't just fall out of the sky. They had something other ppl didn't. Aswell as don't say its too hard to get big in gaming anymore because I've seen several new guys get big because they offer amazing content. To be successful you must have self responsibility and not blame others. Simple as that

Yeah I do agree, it is frustrating, especially with vloggers, if a vlogger with a huge channel can't think of a video idea, they can always ask their thousands of subscribers for some questions on twitter for a q&a video, or ask them to send them some dares, or video ideas. So it is easier for them in that sense, however I do have a lot of respect for them, as I know most of them have started from nothing and worked their way up completely on their own! :)

i know how you feel I've spent hours on content that i loved and won't even get as many views as a basic unedited iPhone vlog or a lets play, but whining about it won't change anything. The only way to get anywhere is to work harder and smarter.
 
Ahh... Yeah, they have it easy, but they damn sure earned it. They went through everything we're going through now. They just so happened to be the "chosen ones" (totally looks at Drew McIntyre). LOL For real though, it's not easy at first, but it will be... Eventually. Eventually...
 
In this type of Youtube. Where there are thousands channels with similar content like yours. You got to get the audience to come to you.

Start embedding your videos on social media or use word of mouth about your youtube channel . The days when you just upload a video, and get a lot of views is over. It takes hard work to get viewed on Youtube.
 
Everybody has to work hard to create a channel.

The biggest Draw Card is You. people subscribe to you. Not your video.
Think of your market, youtube is a 1000's of little markets in a Metropolis of Shopping Centers

Gaming is huge on YT, it is everywhere in this Metropolis of Shopping Centers
You need to be entertaining right from the start to try and keep people watching.
I dont know film your self squash some big water Mellon with a hammer, get some mates and get some cheap blow up hammer and pretend to be part of a game. Idea's
Do not expect your first idea to get more than 100's hits, but keep working on it and you might get some traction.

Try to promote your self on a few websites, you do not need to link your video's but have your channel in you sig. Dont post random crap, post info that is relevant.

SEO in youtube is important, but without a good video to hold viewer time you will not get up the ranks.

Yes getting big on youtube has to do with luck, video quality & and who you know.
 
sadly when it comes to youtube and new games, its a case of "the simpsons did it" 2 min after the game comes out, and everyone that's interested in that particular game has seen it done by the big guys already and has no reason to watch you instead. that's my conclusion from trying it anyhow.
