Best Video Editing Software

Personally, I prefer Adobe Premiere Pro (CS5.5), simply because it's what I'm used to using.
I'm pretty sure it can do whatever Final Cut Pro and Sony Vegas can do.
It's probably best to be able to use all the major NLEs - I've used Final Cut Pro (on a Mac... which I wouldn't choose unless I had to), but I've never used Sony Vegas. Can't really be much different from those two, though, can it?
One reason Premiere Pro is better than the others is that you can get it as part of Production Premium, for example, which comes with Photoshop, After Effects and other legendary pieces of software...

I have no idea, but I'm playing around with FCP Express and it seems alright. I miss vegas though, I have a mac and don't want to dual boot.

Sony Vegas Pro is very efficient, easy to use and easy to learn[DOUBLEPOST=1349792534,1349770683][/DOUBLEPOST]

Adobe Premiere Pro (or Final Cut Pro, basically the Mac equivalent). Even for the simplest videos it gets the best results IMO.

All professional editing softwares cost (a lot) of money. Good free editing software is pretty much non existent. Not the legal kind, anyway.
