Be Honest

For those of you who admitted you'd stop, I salute you. It's so much better to see someone who can honestly admit that over someone who keeps plugging the same BS statements about "I'd keep going views don't matter to me!!!" Oh pSHAW they don't matter to you LOL. They may not matter enough to stop you from going but they matter to you.

As for me, as long as I can maintain the audience I have, I would keep going however I wouldn't do my channel the same. I wouldn't vlog on trendy topics and I wouldn't keep with the 3 channels and I wouldn't tag my videos anymore. I don't think I'd have a schedule. I'd probably just make videos when something really amazing to me hit me and I'd upload it just to share with the friends/audience I already have. I'd treat it like a hobby, not a serious path to success.[DOUBLEPOST=1374427772,1374427731][/DOUBLEPOST]
Well as long as I at least have a small group that wants my videos, I will continue to make more. If everybody stopped watching, I'd probably stop eventually.

yeah if my videos literally got NO views I'd just move to a different site hahahaha

Humm...I might stop if it gets to a small number and never improves and no one begs for me to make more videos. This is because I am making my videos to people so they can watch and help them out and get inspired. If I don't have that kind of people who want to get inspired and get help then there is no use for me to make videos and i can just do something else other than spending days to play and film and edit and waste my time.
Same goes if I had a real business. Lets say a cake shop. If one 50 people actually come and go, come and go I would stop because I don't have enough customers to serve and I would be wasting my time on money for rent and wasting time and energy buying materials and making products.

Honestly if I only got 200 subscribers and thats it for the rest of my life then no, I would stop. I do love making videos, communicating with others and whatnot but if I am not gonna get rewarded for the hard a** work I do then no. It seems selfish but like you said, be honest.

Most of us are smaller 'Tubers with under 1,000 subs and under 500,000 overall views.

We all want our videos to succeed but the fact of the matter is, it won't happen to 99.9% of us. Doesn't matter the reason, only a very small percentage of people here will do 'well' (in the sense of gaining more than 1,000 subscribers and 500,000 views)

If someone who somehow knew came and told you that your channel would only ever gain another 100 subscribers and cease growing permanently, would you keep going? Would you stop?

I am curious; almost everyone I've ever spoken to here claims they do their vids not for fame, but for the love of it. But how much would you really have to love your channel to make videos if people stop watching?

I don't think I would. I am not doing it for the money per say but views lets you know that you are being acknowledged and that your hard work is being seen. If I knew I would never get bigger than 100 more than it would be disheartening and I would probably quit. Even though this is still a possible reality, the unknown keeps me going...but I doubt I will ever get "rich" off of this and that isnt the intention.

I would stop only if those subscribers wouldn't watch the videos. If they kept watching i'd keep uploading just bringing a little entertainment to some people is good enough for me. I didn't do YouTube to get popular, I did it so that I could bring a smile to someone's face,or to make them laugh.

I'd see it as a challenge and keep going in order to prove that person wrong. Gotta love a challenge :D

(After all, am I supposed to just trust this person?)

Well the question is hypothetical, so realism doesn't come into it. The idea is a person who knew for a fact you'd only grow a little more and stop forever comes in and tells you of this fact. :)
