Average growth speed?

So far I am about 10 subs a month. I like how I read these forums of people complaining about 5 subs a day.
 
For the first month, I made 4 videos and my parents were the only people subscribed to me. I felt a little discouraged, but then my mom called and during the conversation she mentioned how much they were looking forward to the videos, and how they're happy they can hear me play again. That helped - at least I knew my videos made someone happy! Then I started to get about one new subscriber a week. Then it turned into about 3 - 4 new subscribers a week. Two weeks ago there was a mini explosion, and I had about 10 new subscribers in a day..

I think it's more important to know if you're having fun making videos for your channel, and less about how many people are subscribing. Maybe that's just something someone with a lower subscriber rate would say. :P
