Are You the same person, on and off camera?

I have a gaming channel, which are basically a dime a dozen, so I do sort of go out of my way to be more energetic and silly most of the time. Really it's how I normally act, only when I'm at home and am not going to be judged by anyone other than my wife. I wouldn't act like that in front of strangers, which seems odd since everyone on youtube are strangers to me, but I guess I think it's more interesting and I'm really just trying to make people laugh.

Good question. Sometimes I'm the same and sometimes I'm different. I'm trying to work on consistency. Because I have an energy issue when recording. Because I work full time, plus family things, plus daily responsibilities, I'm just exhausted most days. Recording does take a lot out of me, even though I enjoy it. I'm trying to figure out a game plan for having energy while recording. When I have the day off, it's much easier, especially if I had a decent nights sleep. If I slept horrible, I can barely record. I'm an introvert through and through. So it's taking time to learn how to be on camera.
We also both try not to curse, because of our possible audience. My niece and nephew watch us and I want to be a positive influence.
My husband on the other hand, acts 99% like himself, he's a little more serious on camera, which we have to work on. He's worried about people from his job seeing stuff he says.
For me, it has a lot to do with my energy level that day. Usually it's pretty low, honestly haha. I don't drink coffee either...so if anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them!

Basically what am trying to say is that am becoming 1 person, youtube has changed me into someone who just speaks his mind and not care how people judge me because this is now the real me and i have found that am happy all the time unlike the past me.(Also just to add that this revealed to me who my real friends are because they dont judge me but actually support me,so ya... life is good:) )
Wow...isn't that something....Keep that new you up mate, The energy from that new person quickly radiates to others[DOUBLEPOST=1501491369,1501490994][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm a lot more sarcastic and foul-mouthed when I'm off camera. I try to keep my videos for all audiences, so I don't curse at all, which makes up a significant portion of my daily dialogue. :)
I trash talk a lot both spanish and english, but when it comes to the camera I try not to trash talk so much since my audience tends to be younger :)
Thanks to you both for not thinking only about yourselves....I can see you guys care about your viewers more than what you really want to do[DOUBLEPOST=1501491539][/DOUBLEPOST]
It's better to serve as an example, they will still learn to trash talk outside but it makes me feel better to know they didn't learn it from me XD
That's the spirit minus One(-1)

Yes, I think for my channel it is important to be authentic, it is like the viewers start with you on your journey and evolve with you. So on a personal growth channel it is great to share your strengths and weaknesses. So yes I try to be the same person

I'm more me in front of the camera than around the people in my life. My viewers might be few but apparently I feel more comfortable with them.

I think I'm pretty much the same - I tend to use my more serious like, "public speaking"-style voice, but it's still fairly relaxed, and my voice for those situations is still me, it's just a little more concentrated and on the ball. I've done public speaking for a few years in debates and in giving assemblies at schools, etc., and I had a little practice speaking into camera for Facebook Live, so I think it's mostly the same.

I bet a lot of people code-switch, though - you know how you talk differently around like, your family, your work, your friends, et cetera?

I'd like to be the same. I'm much quirky and sassy and funny in real life. And when I'm filming I go all stiff [emoji20]
