Are you a natural talker on Camera?

The camera makes things much worse for me, actually. I can speak in front of crowds or that sort of thing - and I'll stumble over a word here and there, and it's fine.

When I'm on camera, if I fumble a word or something, I feel like I HAVE to do another take, so I think it's a matter of when you know you're able to edit out the bad stuff, you're less tolerant of the bad stuff in the first place.

Your diction, inflection, etc all gets better with time though.

Not on camera, but to a microphone yes. I naturally talk my head off. But I don't vlog or anything like that so I can't really mention anything about that.

I'm somewhat good at the flow with talking now, but I certainly wasn't born this way. It was a skill I had to develop, over months of practicing and making videos. Now I don't even edit them anymore, because I feel like I can express myself within 5 minutes or less while saying everything I want to and being concise and not bored. It takes time!

I talk to myself all the freakin' time, so it's kind of similar in a way to talking to the camera. It wasn't until my third try filming my first vlog that I finally just sounded natural and my volume was right. I definitely have to script my videos though, because otherwise I am too much of a natural talker and I just don't shut up, haha. I go on tangents and miss all the important stuff. I do multiple takes of most things I say though, to get it right, and make sure I have the right wording.

When I first started making videos I had such a hard time talking infront of the camera. I'm completely comfortable with it now :)

i am a natural talker. But when that camera comes on i feel like its looking into my soul lol. But seriously i have more trouble talking when the camera is on then talking to a crowd.

I'm a lot more flowing in my speech in my videos than in real life. IRL I'm sorta awkward and quiet, haha, but in my videos I tend to let loose.

Exactly.

Plus I'm a professional photographer by trade so being on the other side is really weird for me ... even just doing commentary is something that I know will take time before I find my style. Being a photographer also means I'm highly disciplined in that every small detail needs to be done perfect or not done at all ... which is a royal pain because my video I uploaded today is right under 10 mins and I swear I worked all morning on it. LOL

In no way shape or form was I a natural at talking to a camera/microphone. I pretty need a script or I just ramble on about nonsense.

My problem in front of the camera is I tend to ramble on in order to avoid pauses or umms and ahhhs. Without seeing the reaction of someone else I can't tell when to elaborate or move on lol. My other issue with the camera is maintaining eye contact... which I'm not sure if I should or not. When I talk to people in real life, keeping straight eye contact can get awkward.
