Are the 100 subs really the hardest

If you have no initial contacts (other youtubers/larger social media presence) it can be an absolute drag. Took us a few months to hit 100. Then a few more months later we hit over 3k (due to networking)

It didn't take us that long! I agree with one of the users above saying that it depends on you! People want consistency so uploading content that is great and being accountable definitely plays a big role!

I find the opposite to be true. Getting to 100 subs took me just over a month, maybe two. It felt like it went by pretty fast. Now it feels like I'm crawling though. Probably because most of my videos were reactions and got a lot of views on my way to 100. Now I'm starting to put the focus more on gameplay and it's going pretty slow.

In my opinion 100 subs milestone is hardest to achieve because our new born channels is not known by many people. Once we get bunch of viewers to stick to our channel, 100 subs won't take much time, it means 100 people are familiar with our content and they will help to grow our channel.

for me my first 100 subs were very difficult. When I first started youtube I thought if I made good content then people will see me but no thats not the case! If your a nobody then you have to reach out to people and create and audience and the more and more subs you get, the bigger your fanbase will be and the more exposure youll get

I'm not sure if its true or not, I think it gets easier the more subscribers you get, but you're not going to suddenly shoot up hundreds of subs after you reach a certain number, same was i've seen people stuck at 14k/27k subscribers for months, or years..
I got to 100 subs in 2 years, 200 subs in 2 months after, 300 in 4 months after that, and almost a year after hitting 300 i'm stuck in mid 300s
Who knows, honestly! I wish you luck though!!

No, from my experience. That's the easiest part, when you hit 100, that's the indication that you're at least getting an attraction from viewers considering that we are small channel without this self promotion to everywhere, again that's just from my experience. It becomes hard when your intention is just to get subscribers not providing content that viewers want to see. Some people tried really hard to get subscribers without thinking first to make their content better.
This guy knows what he is talking about
