Anyone else notice this?

The way it works now is this: any channel with 10k or more subscribers can start a paid channel and charge a fee to have people view their content. You must start a new paid channel-you cannot just turn on a paywall on your existing channel.

I think most people will view this badly. They won't want to pay. I'm not saying some people aren't worth it but I don't think the youtube community generally views this well.

Same has silent, i believe doing that will only hurt your channel badly since most people wouldn't want to pay..
But everyone has their reasons, so i don't know maybe doing this for your channel might be good ._.

In my opinion, no :/

I don't mind this feature. I will never use it but it's good for people who actually provide content that's worth money, be it a home content creator or a TV network.

LOL Noone would pay. And will soon lose tons of views and subs because of it. What an idiotic plan.
oh, they will pay.

Don't forget that people buy virtual pets in games that has no real value. They buy bigger and better weapons to play games better. (microtransactions in free to play games) People like to pay for entertainment and always will.

and this is no different than Netflix, you pay a subscription and watch what you want. Well the difference are that in Netflix you pay for stuff you don't watch as it's all bundled.

and they have millions of subscribers.

on youtube you choose the channels you want to watch. The thing that will make or break this is the pricing.
