So you no longer have to apply? you just need 10k subs?

I don't think a feature like this should be readily available personally
If you're creating your own show and running it like a subscription fair enough, but I think applying is definitely the best way to go about it

I think it's pointless either way. If your YouTube channel or show is good enough to charge for viewers than go to a television network or something!

I don't think paid subscriptions belong on YouTube. I feel like anyone who chooses to do it that way will get ill will towards their brand.

No, it's not pointless. It's the beginning.

This is how you will watch shows in the future and that includes TV shows. You just subscribe to those shows you want to watch, like breaking bad.

But then the television network controls when it's broadcasted, doing it on youtube gives you plenty of control.
Thats one reason to use youtube over going to a television network

this is a valid point i never thought of, still i dont really like the idea of paid channels, itd be nice if networks offered "group paid channels" so you pay a price and get like 3 or so channels

Yeah, that's a good point... But I still don't like it

May I ask, what exactly is a paid subscription? Is it where subscribers have to pay to view your content or is it something else?
