Any tips for a beginner ? :D

I agree that RetardedPigeon is not a suitable name, but I might not be the target demographic. Even if you are going for a certain demographic where that is acceptable, putting it in the name may not be such a good idea in the long run.

As for gameplay + commentary content, I like people that are consistent in their commentary. If in some videos you scream, others you don't, some will unsub if they don't like one style and the other isn't compelling enough to stick around for. That's not to say that I don't sub to channels with varying content, but I can tell from the title what sort of content it is, and can select as desired.

I don't think going for hardcore strats (like uploading daily, and sticking to a consistent schedule) right off the bat is a good idea, unless you already know for a fact that you're in it for the long haul. For fun first and foremost imo. I'm not experienced with youtube, but I am experienced with enough pet projects to know that sticking to a strict schedule from word go can lead to burnout or disinterest, whereas a more relaxed routine ends up producing better results. That's just me though, YMMV.

Nothing I can really say that hasn't already been mentioned or covered

- Be consistant
- Take time preparing, recording and editing
- Engage with your viewers
- Promote clean (plenty of threads on do's and dont's)
- Be patient

All I can really say to you bro, good luck :)

You might run into some problems with the name, for all the reasons others have stated. I would also say to interact with others who are making similar videos! Leave genuine comments on their videos, and they'll most likely check your out as well! YouTube is so collaborative, so it's really important to start making relationships in the beginning. Good luck!

I'm planning on starting a new channel , the name would be RetardedPigeon (i dunno why but I just thought of that name in class :p)
I'm a 14 yr old and would mostly play Indie PC games and PS4 games :D
I would record on Fri-Sat-Sun and upload them on Mon-Wed-Fri.

So I'm curious if there is anything I should know and any good begginer tips , thanks in advance

First off, post quality content. Remember, quality over quantity. Less is more, cut the boring parts out of videos so they are easier to watch. Don't forget to add lots of tags but only tags that are related to the video. Get a good and appealing profile picture and banner to bring people to your channel and to look professional. If the video resolution is bad then give the video a thumbnail so people are more likely to click on it. If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask :)

Make sure your channel design is solid to the name.
Upload regular days, 3 - 4 times week.
Make clean content, - good voice recording, videos on 1080p minimum etc etc.

Maybe have a less in insulting name as some people might take offence :)

There's more people who wouldn't take offense but think it's a stupid name. And not the "it's fine" or "it's silly" type of stupid, but the "I don't really want to be associated with this" type of stupid.
So yeah, definitely don't go with a name like that. Not to mention you'd regret it anyway in 2 to 3 years.

Someone mentioned keeping the videos short, and I want to second that. It's really easy for gaming videos to run a full 20-30 minutes, but that's a lot of commitment to ask of new viewers. Keep them short. You can go longer later when you have a base of fans that come to see you in particular.

Another thing I notice with gaming videos is that a lot of people depend on the game content to keep it interesting, but that doesn't work. Engage, talk confidently, and play to your strengths. If you're funny, be funny. If you know a lot about gaming, be informative. You do you, and you'll attract the right sort.
