Any Idea why gaming channels are so popular?

I wasn't really trying to, I was just putting in my two cents. The OP, and myself understood what I was saying, I guess that's all that matters.

More importantly though, why are you having a hard time being motivated? I actual post inspirational videos, and help people that are having a tough time. If you ever want to discuss things, let me know.

gaming is targeting all people at different ages , that's why it's winning and it's better than music and movies !

Music in general is universal, so I'm sure it's targeting just about everyone. Games, and movies are similar in the aspect that they both have a "rating" system that is completely ignored.

someof that depends on the culture and how people are manipulated , like here in the middle east people would go to music videos over video games or movies some are headed to religion type vids and etc ..

Do Gamers like other channels other than gamers? I feel like they box everyone out, haha[DOUBLEPOST=1423802097,1423802075][/DOUBLEPOST]cause there is some funny stuff out there, I mean, I think my channel is pretty funny, haha
Yes. I like both gaming channels, and also like to watch Shane Dawson, mytoecold, The Fine Bros etc.
Plus I like to watch random videos that I stumble upon. :P

I honestly feel like youtube used to be a place where girls would go watch the hot popular male teen you tubers, and now that there is such broad portion of youtube that is geared towards teen boys who like crude commenting and just things that interest them is what makes those channels big.

I've been on YouTube since the beginnings, and to be honest, I've never noticed any young male vloggers, or any vloggers until recently. Diddn't even know they were a thing. it was all anime AMV's windows movie maker vids, and comic sketches. That was my experience of early youtube anyways.

I guess back then it was much more tailored to 'you' and showed more of what your interested in, rather than what's popular.

...i miss old youtube

It is much easier to build a viewer base around one game vs lots of games. I started out 99% battlefield now I'm branching out.

Old YouTube was FULL of flaws, though. It went by views instead of view time, so you had all those channels that put boobs in the thumbnail because it didn't matter if you watched for 2 seconds and then left. It was also full of absolute garbage. For a long time it was IMPOSSIBLE to find a song on YouTube that wasn't a terrible AMV. The search algorithm was in dire need of a fix (largely because of the aforementioned "all that matters is a click" policy).

I'm not saying the current system is perfect, but I feel like the old system gets praised too much. Let's not even consider that stupid 5 star system...

Yeah, I wasn't mentioning the daft AMV's to praise them haha, I simply miss it due to nostalgia, it's definitely a better site by far now, I just do get a little sick of seeing the same few youtubers that I am not subbed to, keep popping up in my reccomended feed. I even hit the little icon at the side and hit the 'not interested' button, but they just never go away.
