Amazon Competing with Youtube

Hmmm, interesting. This is one of those things were I think it's more trouble than it's worth at this current moment in time. Curious to see how this will play out 6 months from now.

Just subscribed and will start uploading soon.
Now I am reading the support information.
Looks cool. :)

Edit. Just curious if we can upload directly our YouTube videos?

my YouTube Network already sends my Cover Song videos to Amazon Direct. It looks like now anyone might be able to upload videos as they wish without going through a network[DOUBLEPOST=1462941324,1462941261][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm giving it a try now. Who knows.. I may be one of the early adapters and get successful.

The registration was easy. You just need to put your personal data and some tax information (I am not based in U.S.).

You need an additional banner in 4:3 format as a requirement. I'm uploading one video now but it takes very long and I can't see the progress clearly.

Banner for what?

So how do you actually go SEE videos already up there? How do you browse through all the stuff people are uploading?

This can't be that great of a platform yet if I can't even figure out how to access the videos and examine the interface...

Just an early warning - all your videos require closed captions (or at least specially formatted subtitles file). I already uploaded a movie but I will add the subtitles tonight (no time now).

Many more movies to be uploaded soon!

I think this is fantastic news. Even if it's a longshot, it's nice to know that a big company with vast resources is trying to challenge the giant. Competition is good for everyone, but especially the content creators. Not only that, but it might get Facebook to get its a** in gear a little and have them offer the masses the opportunity to share video revenue. Amazon kinda beat them to the punch. I didn't even know they were considering this.

Just go to amazon and choose from the drop down search menu - Amazon video.
But for now there are only big/comercial titles mainly. We (the small dudes) are just starting to upload. May be you have to wait few days before our videos start to appear in the searches.

YouTube's monopoly is finally over. Although I still enjoy the platform, I can't deny that it'd be better for the growth of online content creators.

AWESOME! think this is really interesting and finally some competition to YouTube and hopefully most likely Amazon Video Direct will be more of a success and pose a major threat to YouTube then Facebook!

I might just try it out and see if I can become the early adopters that maybe become successful who knows this is a really big opportunity for every video creator SHOULD take advantage of!! :D :D

But I still like YouTube tho!

YouTube is going downhill slowly, sadly.

Why do you say that YouTube is going downhill slowly?? :unsure2::unsure2:

I definitely don't think YouTube is going downhill, it is the other way round I think Youtube is improving!!
It's always good to be one of the first adopters of any new platform if it takes off, but those who get onto a platform that fizzles out may be angry for wasting their own time.
I may be one of the early adapters and get successful.

That what I was thinking as well!

Take advantage of that big opportunity haha!! :D :D
