Amazon Competing with Youtube

Well, the 3 strikes is Youtube's rule, so they can, and I imagine will, show leniency if such a situation should arise. Yes, by law they have no choice but to take videos down that no longer have proper license but they can choose to not issue strikes.

YouTube has no control of the 3 strike rule. The copyright owner actually has to submit a strike manually or it's automated[DOUBLEPOST=1463273835,1463273759][/DOUBLEPOST]I find it weird how my YouTube network is uploading my cover songs to Amazon Video and no captions are on them

YouTube has no control of the 3 strike rule.
My point was, if they knew that there would be a ton of strikes coming because of recording companies backing out of/not renewing deals they have in place with Youtube, Youtube could choose to modify the 3 strikes rule in advance of those incoming strikes to protect its creators, because it's their rule.

@Cromartie I was able to upload a video from work where I have a much faster network connection. It seems as if I am not able to upload a correct caption file format though ...

I personally won't use Amazon until it's more clear why some have issues uploading and why you need captions at all. Do you really need captions for everything?

Yes - captions or at least subtitles file are absolutely obligatory. You may upload your video without problem but until you upload the closed captions you will always have an error report (you will not be able to make your video public).

Could somebody post an example for a working captions file? I still can't get the format right :(

Did you try with simple subtitles file? It should work too. I still didn't upload but I was thinking to try with subs at the begining as it is easier.

@chottom I tried it with the srt I downloaded from my YouTube captions and with some manually edited files. Unfortunately I don't have a program that creates scc. This may solve the issue.[DOUBLEPOST=1463633788,1463550334][/DOUBLEPOST]Update: It seems as if I could successfully upload a caption file now. I converted the srt file from YouTube to scc on https://www.rev.com/captionconverter
Unfortunately the content doesn't seem to be "good" enough for Amazon:
We are unable to publish your title for the following reason(s): The synopsis contains content which violates our Content Policy Guidelines, specifically, the section regarding Poor Customer Experience.
The problem may also have been my thumbnail though:
Examples include:
...
Content that contains a cover image which does not include the title name.

Thank you for the update. Good to know.
I will be experimenting with Amazon during the weekend (if I can find some free time).
