After a really good start my views have plummeted, any ideas why?

I started a YouTube channel recently covering car crash compilations called ChimpTv.

I advertise in all the usual places (FB, G+,Twitter)

Now my views are just dwindling away despite collecting subscribers and likes along the way

Any ideas whats going on?

My first guess would be that youtube could have changed the algorithm, but then again, I don´t know!

all view spikes go like that. you are always progressing if they settle back down at a level that is higher than before the last upload.
the spike seems like it can continue going up forever, but that never happens, even the most viral of videos settle down after a while

What you are seeing on that graph is about 20 uploads though.

It seems to me, that it's your video titles. The uploads with either "Epic" or "Most Shocking" get way more hits. When you stopped using these phrases, your views dropped off.

I get massive spikes and most of my videos experiance the same spike at the same time. They also drop together.
Just keep uploading and look forward to the next spike.

Youtube does definitely like playing around with the algorithms so It could just be that!

I've been experiencing the same kind of thing - my videos last year raked in far more views in a shorter space of time than the ones I make now.

However, in your case I think it might simply be that one of your videos performed exceptionally well and you just got lucky in the beginning, so your latest videos appear to pale in comparison.

I wouldn't worry too much about it - just keep making content and eventually the views will come. You're doing great!
