STAY SMOKEY PEOPLE!
So I contacted a person (not saying any names) that is a big larger channel who has been around a while. I have spoken to the guy before back when I was a channel with 2k subs and did a collab with him and we were total strangers then. So anyway this is the response I get back now under my new name:

"Sorry, but I'm not looking to do any collabs at the moment. Even then, I only do them with personal friends because I know we already have a good rapport going on. No offense, and I wish you luck with your endeavors!

Regards
(name cut out of respect)"

Basically meaning "meh this guy is too small. Screw em." Whatever just thought i'd post that. At least I got a response. I spoke to him back when he was only like 50k subs so whatever. Now he has like 100k+ so screw it.

I don't see the big deal with doing colabs. Yeah the videos may come out better, and you will get more exposure, making more people watch your videos and maybe subscribe to you...never mind.

I don't do collabs with strangers either, all of the stuff I've done that involves 2 or more people are people I know in real life. I don't see anything wrong with his message, maybe if you explained who you were he might remember? Either way though, he has a right to refuse collabs even if someones channel size is the issue, while it may seem wrong, a YouTuber has every right to look at a collaboration as a benefit to their channel. I've even been asked to do collabs with some channels with roughly 100-500 more subs than me but turned them down cause they don't interest me and/or I don't know them at all and most of them probably just ask for me to collab with them cause they saw my editing and probably thought they could use me to do all the work to make themselves look good, this is taking into consideration what I've seen from their channels, I'm not going to spend 3-14 days editing stuff to collab with someone who edits batches of their vids in less than a day, again taking into consideration the type of content being produced and the type of game in my case. But again I would prefer to collab with people I'm fairly comfortable with either via chatting to them or knowing their channel very well, collabing or doing YouTube videos that involve your friends are so much better than involving strangers, especially if your friends are YouTubers as well, unless you're an outgoing kind of person and like meeting strangers, that's different. From what I can only speculate; the only person who benefits from a collab with a stranger who's got a large number of subs, is the person with the smaller channel.

Yeah that makes sense. I'm not really too worried about it though. It is what it is. I just know if I was a big channel and someone that had decent/damn good content contacted me i'd at least shoot em a message or a skype call to test the waters. If it doesnt work out at that point we can just drop the idea.

I talked to him before as a stranger and we had talked since but when I explained who i was it was almost as if "oh he made a new channel, only 25 subs and 30+ vids, screw em he isnt big enough".

Moved this to YouTube Chat, Gossip & Help (I think I got the name right this time!). :)

Sorry to hear about that, man. :/ At least you had the guts to ask in the first place. I would have been too scared. :x

I dont see why not. I mean its yes or no. Or they dont reply like most people. If they say no, and I get bigger then them i'll tell em to p**s off if they tell me that.

Spoony already had a s****y comment towards me on twitter having nothing to do with youtube though. What's with all these lets players being emotional train wrecked pricks who cry on twitter all the time about nobody loves me? I don't get that part at all. Then they explode and be a ***** to the fans they do have.

Btw the original post wasn't about Spoony anyway. He can keep his 2 1/2 hour vlogs about movies that are 90 minutes. I never spoken to him otherwise because he's such a ***** to people on his twitter even now.

I don't get it. What on earth were you expecting? You're offering him exposure to like 30 people, while he would be exposing you to 100k+ people. That's not fair at all. Imagine he accepted every collab request from every tiny youtuber, he'd be doing collabs full-time.
