5000 Views Overnight - Promoting Videos Review ;)

So just thought I'd do a quick review of the 'promote' feature on the site.

Yesterday I paid £3 for advertising, it said under 3k views would come, checked back next day 5k.

Pros:

Got views to help boost my channel in the search algoritm. Nice to see 5k views!

Cons:

Next to no likes or comments, people who view these often do so unvoluntarily and can skip after 5 seconds!

I'd recommend as a way to increase your channels standing at least, but was cool to see over night jump like that!

What do you mean by CPM sorry? And I have tags such as hunger games, minecraft survival games, funny minecraft etc.
 
I've done advertising like this in the past for my channel. Yes, you will see a huge increase in view count which is nice in numbers, but in the long run it is actually not good for your channel. The problem with getting all these views, as you said, is that most do not comment, like, subscribe, or even stick around to watch your videos for very long. One of the most important factors for SEO on YouTube is watch-time. The fact that most of these views come in and out fairly quickly destroys your watch time and in the end brings your channels SEO down. My recommendation would be to grow your channel naturally :)
 
Where is the promote feature on this site? How do you find it?
 
This is why I'm wondering if it makes more sense to promote a channel trailer and leave it as unlisted so people can come to your channel and check out your videos and then there is more of a chance for engagement.
