5 Hours to Render

What is your PC specs anyway? Anyway, I also have the same ul speed as yours. :/

Hey, I currently have 8gb RAM which isn't enough but I won't be upgrading any components any sooner. As I am hoping to build my own desktop rendering PC!

what editing software are you using? I know for the more elaborate programs you can render with a graphics card instead of the CPU, (Adobe Premier CS6 needs you to configure it, just search YouTube for tutorials).

I know I can make a 6 minute video in 1080 and it takes less than 2 hours to render and the final file size is just under 200mb.

It took me 5 hours from 10pm till 3am to save and upload a 7 minute video in 1080p, worth it. Or maybe not however The feeling of having top HD on your channel is amazing.

5 hours is nothing, think about rendering some animation movie short or anything like that, that will take much longer... I'm actually doing renders now, one a day which takes me 4 to 6 hours per video depending on the video length, I do the renders at night while I sleep, so I can upload the next day.

If you are using a PC to render videos then maybe investing in a better CPU is a good option, it is expensive but after upgrading to an intel core i5 3570k I can now render 10 minutes of full 1080p footage in around 10 minutes, as for the upload situation, maybe use a program like handbrake to encode the file and reduce the file size, this should cut down the upload time

Hope this helps

Hey UAP, I have to agree with you there. Upgrading the CPU is important for any user who uses a desktop PC for rendering. The CPU gives the most power along with the RAM. So I think if you have the most up-to-date CPU & RAM then you got yourself a beast of a desktop rendering PC.

Well that's what I think.

What about everyone else?

Actually. Rendering with CPU onl with 8GB ram is still slow. It takes me 30mins to render with cpu only + 8GB ram. while doing it with GPU+CPU+8GB ram, it only took me 5-15mins.
