5 Hours to Render

RAM will not reduce your render times. RAM has nothing to do with rendering - it only helps with smoother editing.
Rendering is almost completely CPU intensive (and GPU depending on software) - to reduce render times you need a fast CPU.

Rendering to a fast external HDD (USB3, FW800, or ThunderBolt only, not USB2) will ensure there is no writing bottleneck.

Hey Bassboin, damn that surely takes a very long time to render 1080p videos. At one point I was in your same position, trying to produce 1080p files. But I had to wait much longer for it to be rendered. You think 5 hours to render 1080p is a long time bud, at one point when I tried out 1080p files I had to wait over 13 hours! But I was away so left PC on for few days. Came back home checked the PC and it had completely froze! hehe. AT the end the 1080p file was HUGE! Just over 30GB I think. Uploading 30GB to YouTube would like weeks if not months even being on a 2mb/s upload.

At the end I decided to release only 720p videos files. Yet still it takes a long time.

Hoping to have a brand new desktop PC really soon. Just waiting on some funds :)

Close other programmes, change render settings and get more ram. I render a 10 minute video at 720p in like 12 mins
