Hi, I found this forum while I was searching for a solution to my problem. Maybe you know why.
I have a channel with 324,174 views and very low revenue. Only 17,807 monetized playbacks and the CPM is 2$. I know that cpm is low in January but why there are very low monetized playbacks?
- 234,285 views are from YouTube search, suggested videos and YouTube guide.
- The rest are embedded in other websites like Facebook and Twitter.
- All my videos are on "Only Monetized Platforms" option.
- The channel is new 25 December.
- One video became viral with ~ 200,000 views.
- No copyrighted or third party content.
- 184,610 views from the US
- Top 3 countries US, UK and Canada.
- Estimated earnings till yesterday 36$
- I waited 3 days because I thought the Analytics weren't updated yet.

My opinion: YouTube doesn't trust the channel to monetize the videos because its new. This is the only thing I can think of.

Is there another reason??

One word. Adblock

One word. Adblock

Adblock is one of many causes. Mobile views are another. And the largest cause of all is lack of ad inventory meaning there just weren't any ads ready to run on your video. So no, it's not just a one word issue.

Adblock is 65-75% (something close to that I forget) of mobile views.

I'm going to assume you mean "unmonetized" not mobile. And that's not true. The majority of unmonetized ads, especially on small channels are because there was no ad inventory to display in the first place. And since most current phones are ad supported they are contributing now as well.

The fact of the matter is that there aren't enough advertisers to support the enormous amount of views that YouTube gets. Adblock is just a scapegoat used by people who don't understand. I would be shocked if the number of adblock users online was more than 10%. This program is not as prolific as some feel it is.

lol okay you can believe whatever you think and yah I mean't Unmonetized but it's all good. Also we don't get paid for views on phones even if ads are supported as youtube keeps it all for themselves.

I'm not arguing with someone who clearly has no idea about the topic at hand. You might as well say that YouTube shot Kennedy.
