2,000 Channels in the Millions!!

I still think it's amazing compared to how many people do youtube, I would love to at least hit the 100k and be super happy.

I don't really care how many others have done it...but then again, my personal top goal is 100.000 subs, and even that isn't very likely with the sort of content I make ^^
Right now I'll just worry about getting to 100 and take it from there.

Actually don't think it takes away from it though, because there's a heck of a lot more youtubers now than there were some years ago (clearly), so there's still a lot of competition.

Talking about the future of YouTube always makes me a bit anxious. I think that the fact that 2000 people now have at least 1 million subs means that everything is gonna be scaled up a little bit. To be as respected as a 1 million subs YouTuber in 2012, we are now gonna need 5 million or even 10 million subs. Which is fine, because YouTube has a larger audience now.

Consider how many millionaires are in the world. Do you still think they aren't rare or that their wealth is nothing to go for?

Here's the article for anyone who's interested: http://www.tubefilter.com/2016/04/04/youtube-millionaires-2000-channels/

The "rapid" increase of 1-million sub channels is actually explained in the article: It's from Vevo channels and other corporate channels with a large offline presence moving over to YouTube.

That said, 2000 channels is just a drop in the ocean. The total number of creators on YouTube has increased exponentially at the same time. It's all relative.
