Why do Youtubers use their most viewed recent video as the channel trailer?

Yeah, from my observation it is....

Even if they rewind it 9000 times it won't count as a view :). The only way is click on the video to go to the video page of youtube and play the video
 
Yep, otherwise it would have horrible retention rate, lol. I don't have a channel trailer right now, but I feature a video that needs to be clicked on to play. For subscribers it shows the latest video that they haven't already watched. For non-subscribers it shows my most popular video because that's what people come to my channel for. I am going to make an actual channel trailer, though. Soon. Someday.
