Why did Youtube stop offering FULL partnerships ?

This is the best answer in this thread.

I will add that various 'partner features' (banner, custom thumbnails, scheduled uploading, etc, etc) are all features that automatically are given to ad sense partnered channels after a specific amount of time with no strikes/issues. So really it isn't about the 'features' as much about protecting content, potentially monetizing more/alternatively, and building a relationship.

Sadly most networks fail at all three of these points... queue my signature:

Agreed. Well except: The "specific amount of time without strikes" seems to be 0 on most of these features...

The one thing that you basically don't get at all with YouTube is support though. On whatever. Might (/probably does) change with a significant amount of subs/views. Many networks aren't that much better though.

You should only join a network if they can really offer you something you need. Which they can't / don't want to in many cases until you've grown to a certain size.

I just stumbled across your "I get 1 mio views, networks make me offers" thread like an hour ago. Impressive. And I'm not talking about the number of views, I'm talking about knowing and stating exactly what you want. Something I miss in all those I-have-an-offer-tell-me-which-network-to-choose-folks...

Some of the features definitely have a few months on them. The exact numbers are published, but I don't know what they are off the top of my head. Scheduled uploading, custom thumbnails, and even banner are all released after some amount of time. Scheduled and thumbnails are obviously faster than banner.

Exactly on the support - many networks aren't much better... it really is left in your lap to research for yourself and find places like yttalk to hopefully get the answers you need.

Ah yeah that thread. Too bad it got locked within like an hour after I posted, lol. ("We don't allow recuriting here - you can join any network with those stats" - duh, but I don't know about all the networks out there! Argh!) I remember being rather annoyed when that happened. At that point I had talked to a fair number of networks but thought there were still some high end exclusive and elusive ones I was missing out on. Turns out I was right, but sadly didn't hear about them for several more weeks... Ah well. I've found my dream network but we're still on the honeymoon so here is to hoping it never ends.

I have a few other info threads about networks, gaming fair use/monetization, etc floating around if you want links :)

There is some type of formula as to when you get all the perks of being a YouTube partner. I can't to you what that forumla is, but it's not solely based off of time. I still don't have a banner for my main channel and it has about 6k subs (but I never really cared)...But I was given everything (thumbnails, scheduled uploading, etc.,) on my second channel within a week of creating it - so I'm not 100% on how it all works, but that has been my experience.

I believe I've heard Shane quote the numbers for how long it takes for banner, something like 6 months? Shane?

They've never released the banner feature to partners after April 2012 except those who are required to apply to join the program in certain countries (not fact, this is my guess based off of what I've seen)

In addition to custom thumbnails, scheduled uploading etc. you can now even get YouTube Live now.

-1 "YouTube feature" for networks.

Yeah, I know your advice threads. Good stuff.

As far as the features go: With One Channel now everyone get the Banner. You get custom thumbs as soon as you enable monetization (I think even before you connect your adsense). I'm not exactly sure what you have to do for the scheduled uploads, but you can get them also right away. I'm creating new channels quite often - whenever I have an idea for something - the last one was created on May the forth and it has all those features, without having any videos, subs or anything at all. All I did was enabling monetization, connecting an adsense, and connecting to Google Plus. So I could also do live streams with it via Google Hangouts. (But the YouTube Live Events give you more features and better quality). The channel isn't even verified. Features I do NOT have with that channel right now are uploads over 15 minutes (which would come with the verification), External Annotations (also come with verification), Live Events and Content ID appeals.

...

Okay, just verified it to check, it also has unlimited uploads and External Annotations now...

A few months ago I got verified and didn't get the over 15 minutes for another month or two if I remember correctly.

A few months ago I made a channel and didn't get the custom thumbs when I monetized. They are constantly changing the requirements and they are lowering the ante every time they do. Everything gets more widely access able over time.

They are faster to take those privileges away on newer channels than on older one. Like the channel ThisWeekYT, a weekly 45-50 minute show about YouTube with Lamarr Wilson, Chad Johnson and Leo Laporte, they just set that channel up like a regular Joe Schmoe, not through their connections to YouTube and the auto-content-ID-system falsely took their first or second video down and they lost the ability to upload videos of more than 15 minutes right away. (But then used Wilson's connections to YouTube to get the video back up and unlimited uploads back...)

Also:
Just checked on my main channel, I have Content ID appeals enabled, so you also get that without full partnership, but not sure at which point in time (probably time based, don't really have an amount of subs or views that would be worth mentioning...)[DOUBLEPOST=1368995026,1368993341][/DOUBLEPOST]K, some more info on the Content ID appeals. Just checked another channel that's just laying around empty and that I've registered on Dec. 19th. That one also has the appeals, the channel needs to be verified though.

A networked called OmniaMedia. Been pretty chill so far. I wrote about some stuff (some related to omnia) over here, if you care: yttalk.com/threads/i-just-got-partnered-i-did-my-research-have-you-done-yours-guide-advice.52842/
