Why are people rushing for a partnership

It's genuinely worth to wait until your channel has established a bit, get some loyal fans/subscribers, get a thing going before even thinking about applying. Then when you do decide to apply to a network, pick the one that provides the most help, guidance and support because those things are really important in the long run!

Agreed. People think that the networks help boost subscribers and views. The truth is that the help is negligible. Nobody can help grow a channel more than the actual owner of the channel. Interact with viewers, create engaging content.[DOUBLEPOST=1371915140,1371914363][/DOUBLEPOST]
Why are subs so important? I see channels where people have waaaay more subs than my chanels have but each of their videos have like 300 views or less. I have one channel with only 3 videos and 25 subs but it has 100000 views.
My other channel has about 40 videos but only about 100 subs but most vids have a view count from a couple of thousand views to two hundred thousand views. Aren't views more important than subs? Just wondering.

You definitely earn revenue from the views, not the subs. So having good view-count is great! I'm not sure why there is so much emphasis on subscribers. I have heard that it advertisers like channels with lots of subs. Maybe it's because if they want to run an advertising campaign that focuses on a specific time period, somebody with a lot of subs will get a quick burst of views within the first couple days.[DOUBLEPOST=1371915526][/DOUBLEPOST]
People say it helps with views, subscribers, and money :p

No, no, and a little bit. Channels who are partnered with a network might earn a higher CPM than through Adsense. But if the network takes 30-50% of the revenue, they might be better off going just with Adsense.

It certainly does seem that there are more and more networks popping up... I just received an offer from another network, this one offering up to $10 per 1000 views... is that even possible? I'll be rich in no time! Honestly, I think I'm going to hold off. If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

I think I make like a dollar per 1000 viewings so that would mean they pay about 10 times more which seems hard to believe. I don't think it is impossible to live off of YT vids tho if you have enough videos that get regular and decent views.

The larger/better networks work for their partners to get more exposure. Being part of a network allows you to get more contacts, post footage to their channels and get involved in community things. All this gets you new subs and viewers. Not the goldmine of thousands of new subs in a day that some people seem to think, but it will certainly raise your sub and view count compared to being a lone wolf.
