What happens if you get a strike after you get partnered?

If you partnered and get copyright strikes. Your network will un-partner you.
Oh man... This is sooo confusing... I keep doing research and find out about all these big youtubers, like Ray William Johnson, Michael Buckley and I think even Shane Dawson who had copyright strikes and videos taken down at some point, and they were still partnered afterwards. They didn't have to wait for the strike to be lifted.

And if you were partnered with YouTube directly, not through a network, and you got a copyright strike, would you still be able to earn from your next videos, before the strike was lifted?
I think those guys pay for the content, that's why they don't get a copyright strikes.

Oh, Jesus, people, do you even read before replying. That is just the thing, they did get copyright strikes and had their videos removed because of the strikes. They even said so in some interviews. How can they pay for the content? As much as they might earn with YouTube, I hardly think they earn enough to purchase the commercial rights for their videos every week...

Ray operates within the fair use exception in Copyright law in the US. As does MB showing pictures/videos and reporting on them and giving commentary. Not sure what you mean by Shane, he creates original content. They would easily challenge a DMCA notice issued against them.

That's all fine and dandy, but it doesn't modify the fact that they did receive copyright strikes, and continued to be partnered with a network. Shane even lost his job because of a YouTube video he did at his workplace...

No doubt but as I said "They would easily challenge a DMCA notice issued against them." thus resolving the strike and video being restored and back to normal. If they couldn't, they can afford to hire a lawyer to resolve it or pay a royalty.

Remove the video and the copyright will also be removed.

That doesn't do anything:

Yeah, Bryan yours was probably a content ID claim, the original owner of the copyrighted work has 2 options;
1) Keep his work up & use Content ID to claim it.
2) Remove it & I think this results in a copyright strike.

Also Gabriel, it might be worth appealing against to get rid of the strike :) Best of luck.
