We've hit those 100,000 magic numbers....

Wow! That was pretty amazing. You guys really deserved it. I just saw your videos and they are all great. The kids really enjoyed watching your videos.

Congrats by the way! :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words...[DOUBLEPOST=1482284282,1482284150][/DOUBLEPOST]
Before yes, I've stopped in the last day or so, as our retention from ads is very low. Not sure the reason why. But low retention can kill videos or channel, so safer to stop.

When you say a low retention can kill a channel, what was the retention % you were getting during this time you stopped Adwords? And what is considered a good/decent retention when considering whether your ads are helping you channel? Thanks in advance as usual.
Truly slowly chewing through all your past comments... ;-)

Adwords show the "Video played to". At some point and for some videos, this figure become low. It's best to stop those ads, it means they are not engaging viewers. I have found that retention is generally higher during school holidays and December. During off peak viewing months, it can be lower. There could be some systemic effects in the system causing this, or some peculiarity in viewer behavior with ads during off peak times, I'm not sure.

Channel wise, our retention is around the 30-38% mark. This depends largely on the top 2-3 videos driving traffic. If they are shorter, retention creeps up. if they are longer, it creeps down channel wide.
