Want an honest review? Come on in!

I'd love a review :) I just started out last week so I'd love to know that I'm heading into the right direction. I'm posting videos just for fun but also I want to entertain.

Check out mine: http://www.youtube.com/yardblesspro

We're a production company from Venezuela. The purpose of our channel is to have a place to put out work and get noticed.

We also have a show called Yardbless Pro Shooter which is the main "attaction" of the channel, we do reviews, tutorials, etc. of video production equipment. I've always wanted to do a web show like this, to educate, help out other filmmaker and also get out name out there.

Let me know what you think, cheers!

I would love if you reviewed my channel :)

My goal on YouTube is to gain experience and get better at what I do, because I am studying digital media in college and videography is hopefully going to be my job.

So my YouTube channel is mostly for fun, but it is also to get better, try to be creative, and inspire others

Michelle and I sat down to check out your videos for this review, and we first watched your Lick Apparel Photo Shoot, so we could get a sense of both your editing and your filming style.

The good:
  • Good music choice, gave a good energy to the video
  • Keeping the cuts on time with the beat is a subtle detail a lot of people miss, but it makes the video edits very seamless
The bad:
  • The bubble effect on this video (only used once, for three beats) looked a little amateurish. Like one of those free effects someone throws in. It discredits you a bit, given your goal of showing off your growing skills.
  • The footage itself was pretty dry*. You used the dancing clips to good effect, but it was hard to stay interested, because nothing engaging was happening on screen.
*Michelle disagrees with me on this point. As a former model, she said that it made her nostalgic for her photo shoots. So I guess it boils down to your target demographics.

Next, we watched A Quick Hello.

The good:
  • We both really, really enjoyed this video, which is surprising for a "Hey, this is my new channel" kind of video.
  • You're really enjoyable to watch, and really funny ("because it's beautiful" *cut to awkward face*)
  • You're also very handsome and your voice isn't annoying to listen to. Which I think is going to take you far.
Our advice:
  • I would work on shooting more footage of yourself, and practice your skills on that - it'll help spread your videos, and you'll get to proactice all the same. Good luck!

Yeah, always looking for some feedback on my channel =) I started out making videos from boredom but I have really gotten into it and I'm having alot of fun doing it to I'm trying to take it more seriously now and build a subscriber following.

This is Michelle! I volunteered to review this one for you! Fair warning, Aaron and I are two completely different people :)

FaceCam is a go go go! But the intro is a looong NO!

Your voice is soft, like your majestic beard. Calm and friendly, I like it. Sometimes hard to hear.

I did laugh around 2:30ish, I was thinking the same thing... "Yeah, this is totally the house you would go to looking for help..." Rocky Horror Picture Show, anyone?

Axe is efficient :)

I would have totally given up after not being able to get into the house, and then you made the make-shift box stairs and I was like, "Say whaat???!!!" Impressive sir.

Anyway, the commentary is funny, like at 7:40 I laughed so hard! The way you play the game is really humorous, too, but overall I think that 16:29 is way way too long. Might have just been my ADD kicking in, but I statyed getting distracted quickly. What I do love about this video is that it grabbed my attention, unlike other gaming channels - I actually volunteered to watch yous after Aaron played about a minute of it (which is impressive because its not normally my thing).

My advice would be to trim it down your videos by doing some editing. Keep on keeping on!

Hey Jazz,

Michelle and I watched both your videos, in order, for our review. Like you said, you're just getting started, so we put together some advice to guide you on your way.
  • Energy - Put a focus on adding more energy to your videos. This is easiest to accomplish by adding more energy to your voice, but if a more monotone voice is part of the schtick, so to speak, you can add in props and music and other elements
  • Planning - You don't have to script your videos if it isn't your style, but you should go in with a plan.
  • Title- The Australia Day video had an interesting concept in it, vetting how realistic slang words attributed to Australia actually are. I think the title should tie back in to the most interesting part of your video, to better catch eyes, and draw clicks. And your video should dwell on that subject longer, to stay more engaging :)
Your video style reminds me of CommunityChannel, and I think she's a great example of where you could take your channel. This is the first video of hers I saw on a search:

Thanks for the review! A disclaimer...unfortunately I did not film the Lick Apparel video, the owner of the company shot it on his iPad (...idk why) so I wish I could have shot it to get better angles and make it look more interesting. I completely get you on the bubble editing, sometimes I just feel the need to throw in something when nothing is really needed

Thanks again :)

I'm sorry to have to be the one to break this to you, but your videos are all in Spanish... Um, yo tienes un problemente; ¡Espanol es todos! (<- Bam! Spanish II)

Lol, anyway, Michelle and I watched your Citywalker 20 Cambag Review, and we did it without realizing you had gone through the trouble of adding closed captioning in English.

The quality is fantastic. The video and audio looks and sounds great! And your model does a really great job showcasing the product, it's very thorough. Even without the benefit of the review, we both felt like we had a good sense of the features.

Keep up the great work!

Haha yeah, forgot to mention that we have optional English subtitles for the videos.

Thanks for the comments :)
