I also have something to add with respect to recording system sound and commentary at the same time. If you are a Macintosh computer user running OS X 10.7+, you may wish to look into Soundflower. It is a completely free program when combined with Quicktime will allow you to record your voice, record the gameplay, record the audio coming out from the system (the game), and will allow you to hear the gameplay through headphones (I would recommend headphones and not speakers as otherwise the microphone will catch the system volume and cause interference. Hope that makes sense).
I have made a tutorial on how to configure soundflower on my channel but am not sure if I would be allowed to embed it here since I'm a relatively new member (can a moderator possibly let me know?). Anyhow here is the details if have trouble setting up soundflower:
As for a good quality microphone I would recommend the Snowball Mic! Staples in Canada has them on sale at the moment for $29 which is an absolute steal for a microphone of such caliber (used to be $99 before).
Hope this information was helpful to everyone playing minecraft or something on a Mac!
