Private YouTube Channels?

I once got an email that said someone without a youtube account had suscribed to me and that they would get emails whenever I uploaded a video.

Yeah I think that must be the same one I have had before.

Yeah I also have a few of those. When you create a new youtube account you do not have to have a "channel" but you still have a youtube account... that is how I understand it. Also when I told my friend to go subscribe to my channel he asked me if he should make a channel or not and choose a name for it or whatever. So it is not really a must to have a channel but you can just keep an account. I did not know about the "private channel" though, that is pretty cool
