No Intro's On Youtube Videos

Back when my channel was alive and kicking, videos with intros would have lower retention rates because people "mostly the kids on youtube" have small attention spans and intros are a waste of time.
Once I scrapped the intros people would pretty much end up staying for the whole video if not at least more than half.
 
My intro is 5 seconds but most people stop watching after 2 seconds so I think it may be offensive or heavily disliked?
 
Showing a glimpse of the most interesting / funny things from the video is always a good way to hook the viewer, much better than a "splash screen" intro that some people have already seen over and over again. The worst thing that You can do (IMO) is to put annoying music or one that is way too loud in your intro. That will result in a lot of insta-quit reactions.
 
I HATE!!!! intros so much if i can tell it's about to happen i will quickly skip past it, i no longer use a intro and when i did or if i do again it will be about 5 seconds long, real quick but that's just me
 
I don't do intros anymore. I did when I first started but I realized how much I don't like them and decided not to use them anymore.

However, I do say the same thing when I start my videos "hey guys, it's Maymay" some people say that is my intro now.

If you do have an intro, it needs to be super fast. People get bored or judge a video based in the beginning of the video.
 
I've not used an intro so far, I don't really feel like I have anything to say in an intro. I put the title of the video at the bottom and jump into the main content as quickly as I can.
 
Intros are fun and all, but not needed. I know some youtubers that just introduce/hook the viewers in on the topic at hand and then queues a small intro. A example of this is the youtuber davidsocomedy.
 
I have a goofy 3 second intro, but I'm thinking about getting rid of it. We'll see if it fits with the content I create in the future..
 
Intro's a good for branding, and kinda prepare the viewer.
10-25 seconds though, I think that's too long. 3-5 seconds is much better.
A cool animation of your logo etc etc. Like MKBHD for example.
