Monetization Trouble

ro_dawg That's the thing, I don't attempt to monetize much of my content. I do it on some very old titles and indie titles that provide permission. I have tried in the past to monetize things I do with commentary work attached, but it's really inconsistent, so I stopped. I switched over all my Ubisoft stuff after they officially stated their policy. Youtube is really, really inconsistent with their responses to all of this. Of course, not all the blame is on them, because there is so much copyright trolling from both legitimate and illegitimate sources, it has to be hard to keep up. My issue is that they don't side with user more often. Without the end-user they have next-to-zero content.

To get back to your question, sorry, I do not monetize Capcom stuff, they don't like it. I do have copyright notices about their content, but more on the music than video side. There are a couples sites that have lists of the companies that allow monetization, and I try to go off of them.

Super frustrating. Been working a long time to build up a lot of views that are finally converting over to subscriptions, and all these monetization denials on legit videos as well as a bogus copyright strike are making me want to wash my hands of it. Been starting to play with Twitch lately, but that would feel like starting over to go exclusively streaming.

JamesInDigital I got the 3rd party content match from Capcom and I didn't even monetize it. It was for a video match though. I have also considered twitch also but don't know much about. I'm really not sure what I should do...

Yeah content matches/copyright notices happen regardless of monetization. They aren't really a big deal. You acknowledge them which just specifically prevents you from even attempting monetization. Copyright strikes are the ones to watch for and of course monetization denials which is what we have been discussing.
