No clue on response time here, I just signed the contract yesterday, but am watching my email like a hawk. Only took 2 days to get back on my application (including Sunday) so I can't imagine it'll take terribly long. I'm expecting the longest part for me to be getting my own adsense removed from my account anyway.

Well it lengthens the initial setup time, but it has no impact on getting the partnership.
I'm fine with the route I've taken to get here.

congrats, I still am not used to using partner features ie scheduler and custom thumbnails... but I just got my partner banner up which is a load off my shoulders

Oddly enough I already had both thumbnails and scheduled uploading, and have been using both for more than a month. For me partnering is only adding the banner and reasonable monetization policies. Oh and of course actual support from someone interested in seeing my channel succeed.
