If you comment on a popular video with the verified tick next to your name, you can be assured you`ll attract lots of attention from other commenters, which will translate in traffic to your channel, which I consider a pretty nice perk

Then again, the current thresold to get the badge is 100k subscribers, and once you reach that I doubt you still need to get traffic to your channel through comments

I've seen way smaller channels with those. Most probably assisted by MCNs.
