How to Make Awesome Thumbnails

These tips are nice. :bounce: But how can i get Full HD if 2 mbs is the limit?
I create my Thumbnails in CorelDraw and they Come out at least 5 Mb in size :(...
I have to reduce its size to 1.8 Mb in Paint :crying: ............I dont think a 2 MB pic can be considered Full HD :D
Youtube should have set at least 3 Mb for Thumbnails :) :furious:

Save as a JPG, not PNG.

I'm not saying my thumbnails are great but I do think they are pretty decent. I think I spent almost as much time on my thumbnails as I do actually editing the main video!!

Good tips, thank you very much! Will be sure to try it out, my thumbnails still needs some work. I`m keeping them kinda too simple at the moment.

Hmmm never heard of stroke or drop shadow. Will have to look into it. I use pic monkey, I wonder if they have that. I think my thumbnail and pretty because I put a lot of effort in the background picture. Thanks for the tips!

I notice that a lot of you are mentioning PicMonkey for a free editor. You can also use Gimp. It's free and a good alternative if you don't have photoshop.

BTW,
Stroke refers to putting an outline around the text. Usually the color is black. (It is what I'm using in thumbnail below)
Drop Shadow puts a shadow under your text. You can change the hardness or softness of the shadow. As well as the distance and color. (used in the second image)

Here is one of my thumbnails. I used a colorful border on the top and bottom. I haven't seen this done and I wanted to stand out. What do you guys think?

What do you guys think of my current thumbnail on my youtube channel TigerMomKittenDaddy? Should I change it? Thank you in advance! I really appreciate it.

The pictures are great but they defiantly need some kind of bold wording. Most times people won't read you description and only decide to click based on the picture. I just updated all of my own thumbnails to make them easier to read and so my channel/playlist name appears on them.

What if I have literally no knowledge of photoshop or anything? Are there many tutorials or anything that can help develop my skills? I started looking at a few beginner stuff but it doesn't have much I haven't found
