How People Fail At Youtube

In my opinion the easiest way to fail on YouTube would have to be harassment and money grabbing like asking people to subscribe around 6 times per 10 minute video. Thank you for this thread :D

100% true. I see this in the writing industry too (my day job). JK Rowling made a billion dollars so everyone who likes to write is expecting the same result.

Begging/asking for likes/subs totally might put some people off at times, good to just be entertaining!

Great post... I'm making my videos because I love to be creative, because I love making videos, because I get some inspiration for it, and because I feel like its my call to make it and getting better on it, we are all habing some problems when we feel down but its all normal.
Point is that just who loves it from bottom of the heart will stay on youtube and after some struggles

These are all extremely valid points. Thank you for sharing! All new Youtubers (and even seasoned Youtubers, lest we forget) would be wise to listen to this individual.

However, this point right here...
]The second you see video making as a chore, you are doing something wrong.
Gold. Absolutely 100% gold because this applies to everything you do in life. EVERYTHING.

You won't create quality work if you don't enjoy what you're doing. The very best Youtubers do so well because they LOVE making videos, and they are PASSIONATE about what the content of their videos.

You simply won't generate great work if you see it as a "chore".
Moreover, your audience will sense that you see it as more of a burden than a pleasure.
Lastly, you'll just add extra stress and frustration to your life.
So, what's the point of even doing it if it won't make you happy?

Love it. I think it's crazy how discouraging and overwhelming the YouTube atmosphere can be. Just like with anything in life, there is a ton of competition and like minded people battling for the win.

Really great tips, I thoroughly enjoyed reading these and totally agree. A lot of my Youtube friends from when I first started making videos quit fairly quickly, probably because most people expect this to be an easy and fast way of getting money. It definitely comes with time and I think most people just don't enjoy the ride.

Sub for subs is never a good solution. I know a lot of people treat YouTube as a hobby and that's fine and all however it's ok to have bigger aspirations.

I for one don't see YouTube as a hobby. I don't see it as a social network, a collection of videos, or even a website.

I see it as a kingdom waiting to be conquered. A place where gamers and vloggers live and thrive in their own lush provinces. Happily spending their days amongst the the orcish creatures in the wierd part of Youtube and the ever-happy high elfs of the makeup and beauty realms, ah, such fair creatures they may be.

I am starting my travels in the eastern Pelennor fields of low views where I must travel passed the land of the dead channels. As I continue my quest, I must pick up sustinence from subscribers. This helps me grow strong and carry on.

When I need extra help I call to the skys to summon a merchant from which I may barter for some elixer of increased subs. The merchants are kind and fair, they require nothing more than a willing heart and a paypal account.

My journey shall end in the western lands of partners. Once there I must defeat the Order of the Ancient Ones, their leader, PewDiePie the Grey is a powerful mage. Unmatched in bro skills, he will be a great challenge to overtake. Then I will look across my vast kingdom and be a fair and kind ruler.

Or something like that.
