How do you survive on Reddit?

Many people on this form say Reddit is a jungle infested with trolls. But I was wondering if anyone has posted a video on Reddit and came back alive without your self esteem shredded into pieces? So does anyone have some kind of survival guide to Reddit?

Just don't post it to the huge subreddit, and don't be a d**k. Also, don't say 'I know this sucks, I want feedback" because they don't like that.
Give /r/letsplay a try, they are pretty handy at giving out critique.

If there is a huge chance that you get lots of hate there just don't use it. What you don't know doesn't hurt.

Subreddits are basically communities of people dedicated to things. for example when you see /r/technology it means www.reddit.com/r/technology as the name implies it is a subreddit about tech.
