Does Spamming other channels work?

I think at least 75% of the comments I receive are 'Great vid - I sub'd and commented -come check out my vids, sub and comment'
 
It depends! If you are classy and make a comment related to the video, it might start a discussion and maybe make them come to your channel.
If you do make a generic comment while making it obvious that you make the same comment to others videos, then it just create annoyance and will make it less likely to make someone come to your channel!
 
It can, but only if it's a decent contribution. People hate straight spam, but if you've got something to add to the discussion, relevant to the video you're commenting on, and can be further explored by looking into your account, yes.
