Best ads option?

I find most people blame ads on YouTube rather than content creators.

I think ads are worst when you see them so many times in a row. At that point, even if you're not being blamed for the ads or garnering any ill will, viewers who are watching multiple videos will be a bit discouraged and might stop watching and go do something else. All a matter of balance, I expect. Ad breaks in certain content could be a good thing, too.

You do get to choose your ad's dont you? I would really hate to sign up with say RPM and end up having no subs coz everyone was p****d at them slapping a 2 mins advert on every one of my videos ?

Really? Sure, I'll try to use it. Should I check the limit of 30secs or not?

I have turned all the options on. My opinion: i make quality content.. if u want to watch the video, maybe u need to wait a few secs. For those who click away and not watching video... U missed a great video :)

I don't use the unskippable ads but then again, I don't care about revenue yet since I get 1000 views on a good video.

In my opinion, when you're a very small channel, it's best to start with ZERO ads on anything. What's the point? It's just in the way for your viewers and you're not going to make more than pennies anyway.

I don't put any ads on our Web Series stuff. I want my viewers to know it's not there to make money right now, it's there to show them what we can produce and let them enjoy.

Do your viewers a favor and offer ad free videos until there's actually a point to putting ads up.

RoyK, yes you have beautiful content and i really like it, but think from this side:
If they come from Youtube "suggested / related videos" then they most likely do not know about your content if its good or bad as long as they are random visitors (not coming from advertising, article about your channel etc.) and too long non-skipable ads BEFORE video (not mid or post roll) may scare them away and you can possibly loose a potential subscriber :)

My point - eventually too many ads can do more bad than good. Presently i switched to only skipable ads.
I go for the idea that viever must have a choice - then he like you more (definitely not less) :) and when viewers like you more - this can bring you more views = overall - more revenue :)

p.s. i admit that fact that not many viewers so far understand that channel owner control ads choice on videos but not youtube alone :)

Hmmm excellent point my friend. Stuff where I need to think about. Is there a way to see if ppl come and leave right away? (Bounce?) in the youtube analyitics?
