I waited about 6 months after I reached 100k and received no notification. I emailed YT support and they had given me a code after about a week. I received the award in the post about a week after that.

Have a pic of the generic letter / A4 letter on top of frame to gauge size / Full frontal.
It feels solid but its made of wood. It hardly oozes quality. With thin stainless sides and front. The wording is in like an acrylic sticker that I could probably easily lift off with my nail. Im happy though and I will put the letter in a frame and display it alongside the award.

The plaque looks really modern, like something from Star Trek! :) It looks so cool! : D I wonder why they updated the look of the plaque -- maybe it weighs less, and might have reduced shipping costs? :eek: I like the letter that they sent with it! I wonder if it's her real signature, or if it's a printed one!? :eek:

My guess is that the new designs main aim was to save on overall cost.
Its a printed signature. But it is on a good quality paper!
 
Holy guacamole dude. 40 million views, and 100k subscribers! That's amazing. I've had my channel for almost 3 years and I don't even have a fraction of what you have. Then again, it wasn't until extremely recently where I started to upload more often and try to make better videos. I can only imagine of getting to where you're at! Silver play button BABYYYY!

Its taken 3 and a half years and around 300 videos.

Very steady and gradual for the first 2 years until I hit my first 'gateway' video which sent my numbers soaring.
That video has poor SEO and the only reason it now has over 10m views is due to its 'clickbait' thumbnail.
Around 10% of my videos have clickbait thumbnails. Guess which videos are more popular..
And actually I dont use 'clickbait' thumbnails anymore as I dont really need to. Although if I did...?

Its more steady again today (Perhaps due to no clickbait) but I continue to schedule my bi daily videos hoping to hit another 'gateway'.

For me it was luck. Sorry I dont have any secret forumla. (Other than a sparringly used cheeky clickbait thumbnail)

My only advice would be to keep to an upload schedule and engage with your viewers.
